Week 24 Period 97 UNIT 15: When’s Children’s Day? Lesson 1 (1, 2, 3) I. Objectives: * By the end of the lesson - students will be able to ask and aswer questions about: + popular festivals + when it is. - Ss can develop some following competences: + Communicative and collaborative competence: act 1, act 2 + Problem-solving competence: act 2 + Self-studying and self-control competence: act 2 + Problem-solving and creative competence: act 2 *Language focus: - Vocabulary: New Year, Children’s Day, Teachers’Day, Christmas, smart - Strucrure: When is ? It’s - Differentiated teaching: + Incomplete ss: can talk about the upon festivals and when they are. + Well-completed ss: can talk about the upon festivals , other festivals and when they are. II. Consolidation: - Content: Review the song and form. + Form: When is.? It’s on the.. - Procedure: + ask students to answer the following questions: What have you learnt from the lesson today? What are the core values of the lesson? Activity 1: Warm up *Content *Procedure > Divide class into 2 groups, match competitively - T controlls & dicides the winners - Make sentences with these words. Activity 2: -Content 4 . Listen and circle - Procedure: > T asks sts to look at the sentences on page 33, read the sentences and guess the result. - Check understanding before listening. > Sts look at the sentences in their books, listen to the tape 2 times and circle. -Sts share the result with a partner (share what they have just listened if someone is wrong) - Call 4 representatives in 2 groups present the result. - Other sts comment. - T plays the tape again and checks the answer with the whole class. - The group has more correct answers will be the winner. > Call sts read the completed sentences Activity 3: -Content :5. Objectives: * By the end of the lesson -Students will be able to: + pronounce correctly the sound of “cl,fl" + chant “ What do you do at Tet” well. - Ss can develop some following competences: + Communicative and collaborative competence: act 1, act 3 + Problem-solving competence: act 1, act 2, act 3 + Self-studying and self-control competence: act 1, act 2, act 3 + Problem-solving and creative competence: act 3 *Language focus: - Sound: “ cl, fl” - Chant: “What do you do at Tet?” - Differentiated teaching: + Incomplete Ss: can pronounce the sounds cl and fl and listen and write + Well-completed Ss: can pronounce the sounds cl and fl, listen and write and chant “What do you do at Tet” well II.
