Objectives: * By the end of the period, Sts will be able to: + Use the words and phrases related to the topic Food and Drink + Ask and aswer questions about someone’s physical appearance. . Using What does he/she look like? - He’s/ She’s - Ss can develop some following competences: + Communicative and collaborative competence: act 1, act 4 + Problem-solving competence: act 1, act 3 + Self-studying and self-control competence: act 2, act 3, act 4 + Problem-solving and creative competence: act 4 * Language focus: - Vocabulary: tall, short, slim, old, young - Strucrure: - What does he/she look like? - He’s/ She’s II. Materials: - Teacher’s: books, pictures, flashcards, CD. - Students’: books, notebooks, crayons, pens, boards. III. Method: Communicative Language Teaching, Work individually, pairwork, groupwork. Teaching activities: Activity 1: Warm up: Jumbled sentences 1. your/ What/ food?/ is / favourite 2. you / milk?/ Would / some/ like -Run through the words. - Divide class into 2 groups, arrange the words competitively. - Check and congratulate the winners Activity 2: Presentation: Look, listen and repeat • Pre-Teach vocabulary: - tall (picture) - old (picture) - short (picture) - young (picture) - slim (picture) • Set the sence: b. Objectives: * By the end of this lesson, Sts will be able to: - Listen about people’s appearance and tick the right pictures. - Write the answers about the physical appearance. * Language focus: - Structure: A: What does he/she look like? B: He’s / She’s _______________. - Differentiated teaching: + Incomplete Ss: can hear the key words. + Well-completed Ss: can hear the whole sentences. II. Materials: - Teacher’s: books, pictures, flashcards, CD. - Students’: books, notebooks, crayons, pens, boards. III. Method: - Communicative Language Teaching/Work individually, pairwork, groupwork. III. Teaching activities: Activity 1: Warm up Slap the board - T shows the words in the poster& runs through the time, then he asks Ss in 2 teams to look at the words carefully. Then T reads a word, one by one student in each group listen and slap in the correct word. T checks and gives feedback. which team has more correct answers will win Activity 2: - Listen and tick * Procedure: - T shows the pictures on board - T & good ss run through the pictures + Elicit the physical appearance. . Objectives: * By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to: - Make a comparision between 2 people. - Use the words and phrases related to the topic . - Ss can develop some following competences: + Communicative and collaborative competence: act 3, act 4 + Problem-solving competence: act 1, act 2 , act 3 + Self-studying and self-control competence: act 2, act 3, act 4 + Problem-solving and creative competence: act 4 * Language focus: - Vocabulary: Review Voc : big, small , elder - Structure : Who’s taller? My brother is taller. II. Materials: - Teacher’s: books, pictures, flashcards, CD. - Students’: books, notebooks, crayons, pens, boards. III. Method: Communicative Language Teaching/Total Physical Response/Natural Approach Work individually, pairwork, groupwork. III. Period 94 Lesson 2: (4, 5, 6) I. Objectives: * By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to: - Nam’s descriptionof his family, circle the answers correctly. - Write the answer the questions * Language focus: - Voc : strong - Pattern : Who’s (taller)? My (brother) is (taller). II. Materials: - Teacher’s: Textbook – workbook, poster of warmer, pictures . - Students’: books, notebooks, crayons, pens, boards. III. Method: Communicative Language Teaching / Work individually, pairwork, groupwork. III. Teaching activities: Activity 1: Warm up Pelmanism -T divides class into 2 groups. - One by one student slap chooses a picture and a letter. - T checks and gives feedback. Activity 2: Listen and circle ( p.27) * Procedure: - T shows the poster on board - T & good sts run through the sentences. - Sts‘ prediction the correct answers. - T plays recording 3times, sts listen & circle (individually). - Sts share with their partner. - let weak or average sts correct on board. (let good sts tell the words they can hear) - T’s feedback. - Let Sts practice the tapescript in pairs. - Call on some pairs to perform in front of the class to lead in part 5. Objectives: * By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to - Pronounce correctly the sound of “ th " - Chant “ This is my family” well. - Ss can develop some following competences: + Communicative and collaborative competence: act 1, act 3 + Problem-solving competence: act 1, act 2, act 3 + Self-studying and self-control competence: act 1, act 2, act 3 + Problem-solving and creative competence: act 3 * Language focus: - Sound: “ th ”. - Chant: “ This is my family” - Differentiated teaching: + Incomplete Ss: can pronounce the sounds “ th” and listen and write + Well-completed Ss: can pronounce the sounds th , listen and write and chant well. II. Materials: - Teacher’s: textbook, workbook, recording. - Students’: books, notebooks, crayons, pens, boards III. Method: Audio Lingual Method / Work individually, pairwork, groupwork. III. Teaching activities: Activity 1: Warm up Find the words with “th” EX: this , that , .. *Procedure - Divide class into 2 groups, sts do competitively. + Check & congratulate the winners. + Read the words again. Sts will be able to - Read and get the information from the text and answer the questions (about Marie’s family) - Write about their family. - Ss can develop some following competences: + Communicative and collaborative competence: act 1,act 4 + Problem-solving competence: act 2, act 3 + Self-studying and self-control competence: act 2, act 3, act 4 + Problem-solving and creative competence: act 4 * Language focus: - Reading skill / Writing skill. II. Materials: - Teacher’s: books, pictures, flashcards,CD. -Students’: books, notebooks, crayons, pens, boards III. Method: Communicative Language Teaching / Work individually, pairwork, groupwork. III. Teaching activities: Activity 1: Warm up Describe the pictures - T shows a picture on the board and models. - Ss look at the picture and describe people’s appearance. - T checks their answers and give feedback. Activity 2: Read and Write • Procedure: + T set the scence + Guide how to do + Ss read the text & write the answer (in groups). + Present the result on the board.
