Week Period UNIT 18: WHAT’S YOUR PHONE NUMBER? Lesson 1 (1, 2) I. Objectives: * By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: + use the words and phrases related to the topics Phone numbers and Outdoor activities. + ask and answer questions about phone numbers, using What’s ’s phone number? => It’s - Ss can develop some following competences: + Communicative and collaborative competence: act 1 + Problem-solving competence: act 1 + Self-studying and self-control competence: act 2 + Problem-solving and creative competence: act 2 *Language focus: - Vocabulary: mobile phone, birthday present, phone number. - Structure: What’s ’s phone number? => It’s - Differentiated teaching: + Incomplete Ss: can ask and answer phone numbers in the pictures. + Well-completed Ss: can ask and answer their parents’ phone numbers. II. Materials: - Teacher’s: books, pictures, flashcards, CD. - Students’: books, notebooks, crayons, pens, boards. III. Method: - Communicative Language Teaching - Total Physical Response - Natural Approach - 3Ps - Work individually, pairwork, groupwork IV. Teaching activities: Activity 1: Warm up: - Review the song: Buying clothes Activity 2: Presentation: - Content 1. Look, listen and repeat: a. Teaching vocabulary: + mobile phone + phone number + birthday present 1 Activity 4: Production - Content 3: Slap the board and answer the questions. - Procedure: + Tell Ss about the rule of the game. . T divides class into two groups: Boy, Girl. . T invites a student to ask. . Group B or Group G slaps the picture and answers first, they’ll get a mark. . Which group has more marks that group is a winner. + Ss play game to review the structure. Consolidation: - Content: Review vocabulary and form. + Vocabulary: mobile phone, birthday present, phone number. + Form: What’s ’s phone number? => It’s - Procedure: + ask students to answer the following questions: What have you learnt from the lesson today? What are the core values of the lesson? (if the teacher can take from the lesson). + Praise some Ss who are hard-working/ active/ good. as well as encourage others to try more. + Give feedback Homework: - Learn by heart the pattern. - Drill. 3 Answer key: 1b 2c 3a - Procedure: + Show Ss how to carry out the task & tick the box. + Elicit the phone numbers in the picture. + Have Ss repeat them. + Play the tape 3 times for Ss to listen. Do the task & check their answers. + Get Ss to swap & check their answers before checking as a class. Activity 3: - Content 4: Look and write Answer key: 2. It’s oh-nine-eight-five, oh-nine-seven, oh-nine-nine. 3. It’s oh-nine-one-two, two-eight-three, eight-oh-four. - Procedure: + Have Ss read the text in silence. + Check comprehension & give feedback. + Elicit the words filling the gaps. + Allow Ss time to do the task. + Get Ss to swap & check their answers before writing the correct answers on the board for Ss to copy down. + Call a few pairs to read aloud. Activity 4: - Content 5: Let’s sing - Procedure: + Show the lyrics of the song on the board. + Read the lyrics to the song line by line & without music. 5 Week Period UNIT 18: WHAT’S YOUR PHONE NUMBER? Lesson 2 (1, 2, 3) I. Objectives: * By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: + use the words and phrases related to the topics Phone numbers and Outdoor activities. + ask and answer questions about Outdoor activities, using Would you like to ____________? => I’d love to/ Sorry, I can’t. - Ss can develop some following competences: + Communicative and collaborative competence: act 1 + Problem-solving competence: act 1, act 3 + Self-studying and self-control competence: act 2, act 3 + Problem-solving and creative competence: act 3 *Language focus: - Vocabulary: - go for a picnic - go for a walk - go fishing - go skating - Structure: Would you like to ____________? => I’d love to/ Sorry, I can’t. - Differentiated teaching: + Incomplete Ss: can ask and answer one or two activities. + Well-completed Ss: can ask and answer about activities what they like. Lesson 3 (1, 2, 3) I. Objectives: * By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: + pronounce two-syllable words with the stress on the second syllable: re’peat, en’joy, in’vite, and com’plete. + chant “I’d like to invite you to my party” well. - Ss can develop some following competences: + Communicative and collaborative competence: act 1, act 4 + Problem-solving competence: act 1, act 2, act 3 + Self-studying and self-control competence: act 2, act 3, act 4 + Problem-solving and creative competence: act 4 *Language focus: - Sound: pronounce two-syllable words with the stress on the second syllable: re’peat, en’joy, in’vite, and com’plete - Chant: “I’d like to invite you to my party”. - Differentiated teaching: + Incomplete Ss: stress on the second syllable and chant “I’d like to invite you to my party”. + Well-completed Ss: stress on the second syllable and chant “I’d like to invite you to my party well. II. Materials: -Teacher’s: books, pictures, flashcards, CD. - Students’: books, notebooks, crayons, pens, boards. III. Method: - Audio Lingual Method - Total Physical Response -Work individually, pairwork, groupwork IV. Teaching activities: Activity 1: Warm up - Game: Guess the stress marks. Listen, repeat, enjoy, picnic, number, invite, complete. => ‘listen, re’peat, en’joy, ‘picnic, ‘number, in’vite, com’plete. - T explains the game. + T divides class into 3 groups. + Ss discuss with their friends and show their answers. - T corrects and finds the winner. 13 - Procedure: + Have Ss look at the picture & identify the activities. + Teach the new vocabulary. + Tell Ss that they are going to chant. + Play the recording for Ss. + Model the gestures. + Have Ss practice in groups. + Call on some volunteers to recite the chant.
