 UNIT 16: Let’s go to the bookshop
 Lesson 1 (1, 2, 3)
I. Objectives:
 * By the end of the lesson
 - students will be able to make and respond to suggestions to go somewhere. 
 - Ss can develop some following competences: 
 + Communicative and collaborative competence: act 1, act 2
 + Problem-solving competence: act 2
 + Self-studying and self-control competence: act 2
 + Problem-solving and creative competence: act 2
 *Language focus: 
 - Vocabulary: bookshop, bakery, pharmacy, supermarket, sweet shop, I’m busy, great/good idea! 
 - Strucrure: let’s go to the ____________. I want to _____________.
 - Differentiated teaching:
 + Incomplete ss: can give suggestions about the upon places .
 + Well-completed ss: can give suggestions about the upon places and other places.
 II. Materials:
 -Teacher’s: books, TV,computer.
 -Students’: books, notebooks, pens, small boards
III. Method:
 -Communicative Language Teaching

 -Work individually, pairwork, groupwork
III. Teaching activities:
 Activity 1: Warm up 
 * Content:
(Brain storming)

 *Procedure >T asks sts to look at 4 pictures (part 2/ page 40), run through the words in the pictures.
- Practise.
+ Teacher – The whole class and vice versa.
+ group A – group B and vice versa.
+ 4 Open pairs practise modelly 
+ Sts practice in pairs (chang the roles)
+ Call some pairs to present in front of the class. (close pairs – open pairs)
Activity 4: Production
 *Content:
-( Suggest some places to go and say why.)
 zoo/see the animals
 cinema/see a film
 pharmacy/ buy medicine

- The class play “Bean bag”
* Procedure:
> Play the song & pass the beanbag. stop the song, st has the beanbag say a suggestion, invite another 
one answer.
- T models one.
- Work in pairs.
- Presentation.
- Correction
  Consolidation:
 - Content: Review vocabulary and form.
 + Vocabulary: bookshop, bakery, pharmacy, supermarket, sweet shop, I’m busy, great/good idea! 
 + Form: let’s go to the ____________. I want to _____________.

 UNIT 16: Let’s go to the bookshop
 Lesson 1 (4, 5, 6)
I. Objectives:
 * By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
 + listen to someone’s suggestion & tick the right pictures.
 + Write the sentences about making & responding suggestions
 - Ss can develop some following competences: 
 + Communicative and collaborative competence: act 3, act 4
 + Problem-solving competence: act 3, act 4, act 5
 + Self-studying and self-control competence: act 3, act 4, act 5
 + Problem-solving and creative competence: act 5
 *Language focus: 
 - Structure: Review the structure “Let’s go to the ?” Because I want to buy ...
 - Differentiated teaching:
 + Incomplete Ss: can hear the key words 
 + Well-completed Ss: can hear the whole sentences.
 II. Materials:
 -Teacher’s: books, TV, computer
 -Students’: books, notebooks, pens, boards

 *Content: 5.Let’s sing
 * Procedure:
 >Run through the song by the picture
-T reads the song, sts listen and repeat, ask the meaning of the song.
- The whole class listen to the song, point to the lines, remember the tune.
- Sing along with the recording.
- Groups sing.
- Some volunteer sts sing in front of class.
  Consolidation:
- Content: Review the song and form.
 + Form: “Let’s go to the ?” Because I want to buy ...
- Procedure:
 + ask students to answer the following questions:
 What have you learnt from the lesson today? 
 What are the core values of the lesson? ( if the teacher can take from the lesson). 
 + Praise some ss who are hard working/ active/ good. as well as encourage others to try more.
 + Give feedback 
 Homework: 
 -Learn by heart the pattern. 
 -Review the song
 - Each group does one topic.
- Check & congratulate the winners
 Activity 2: Presentation
 *Content: 1.Look, listen and repeat
 a.Teaching vocabulary:
- see the animals: xem thú
- cinema : rạp chiếu phim
- see a film : xem phim
* Checking voc: rub out and remember
 b. Set the sence:
 Set: A: Why do you want to go to the supermarket?
 B: Because I want to buy something.
 ( Hỏi tại sao bạn muốn đi siêu thị)
 *Procedure
> Sts observe the pictures on page 42 and think: Who are they? (Mai, Tony & Linda); What are they 
talking about? (Tony makes a suggestion to go to the zoo/ Linda declines); checking sts’ 
understanding.
>T plays the tape and asks sts to listen & point to the lines,
- Listen again & repeat.
- Practise in groups (divide class into 2 groups)
- T calls 3 sts play the roles, present in front of class.
-T elicits sts to draw the main structure 
 - Ask the meaning of the structure

 Lesson 2 (4, 5, 6)
I. Objectives:

- students will be able to:
+ listen to suggestions to go somewhere and some needed things, circle the answers correctly.
+ look at the pictures & complete the sentences.
 - Ss can develop some following competences: 
 + Communicative and collaborative competence: act 5, act 6
 + Problem-solving competence: act 4, act 5, act 6
 + Self-studying and self-control competence: act 4, act 5, act 6
 + Problem-solving and creative competence: act 6
 *Language focus: 
 - Vocabulary : old vocabulary
 - Strucrure: Why does he/she want to go to the.?
 - Differentiated teaching:
 + Incomplete Ss: can do part4,5 
 + Well-completed Ss: can make short dialogue with four or more sentences
 II. Materials:
 -Teacher’s: books, pictures, flashcards,CD.
 -Students’: books, notebooks, crayons, pens, boards

 -Work individually, pairwork, groupwork

 Activity 1: Warm up

> Sts look at the pictures and think the phrases to complete the sentences (work in groups). 
- Have sts say out the words
- T models one picture.
> Sts write individually
- Share the answers (checking mistakes & correct each other)
- 2 groups present the sentences on the board.

> Call 3 sts read the sentences again. 
  Consolidation:
- Content: Review the form.
 + Form: Why does he/she want to go to the.?
- Procedure:
 + ask students to answer the following questions:

- Sts give the words with one, two, three, four syllables
- Divide class into 2 groups, sts do competitively

Activity 2:
 -Content :1. Listen and repeat
 - Procedure:
 > Introduce what the syllable is. how to recognise the syllables.
- Teacher reads the words, sts repeat (one time)
- T plays the recording and asks sts to listen & point to the words.
- Listen again and repeat
- Have sts practice in pairs (one reads & one listens, correct each other).
- T calls some sts to read aloud 
 Activity 3: 
 -Content 2: Listen, circle and write. Then say aloud
 What are the core values of the lesson? ( if the teacher can take from the lesson). 
 + Praise some ss who are hard working/ active/ good. as well as encourage others 
to try more.
 + Give feedback 
  Homework:
 - Review the chant “ What do you do at Tet?”
 - Workbook part D, E *Procedure
> Run through the words and ask the meaning of the words . 
- Sts match in groups.
- Check and congratulate the winners.
- Some pairs practise to ask & answer.
Activity 2:
 -Content 4 : Read and number
Vocabulary:
- first : đầu tiên
- then : kế đến
- after that: sau đó
- finally : cuối cùng
 - Procedure:
> Run through the picture
- Read the text & number the pictures (in groups). 
- Present the result on the board.
- Comment.
- Correction.
> Look at the order, some sts retell Mai & Phong’s activities on Sunday
 Activity 3: 
 -Content: 5.Look and write
 - Procedure:
>Have sts look at the promts, think the words to write.
