Week 5 Period 7 FUN TIME 1 I. Objectives: * By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: -correctly identify the word pizza, kitten, popcorn, and bike -write the words pizza, kite, bike and pasta and complete the sentence structures The The_________ is yummy. Is he/she _______(verb + __ing)? Yes, he/she is./ No, he/she isn’t. -recognise the words pasta, popcorn,pizza, kite,bike and kitten while listening -correctly spell and pronounce the words pasta, popcorn,pizza, kite,bike and kitten - Ss can develop some following competences + Communicative and collaborative competence:act 1,3,4 + Problem-solving competence: act 1,3 + Self-studying and self-control competence: act 2, 3,4 + Problem-solving and creative competence act 4 *Language focus: - Sound: P/K - Vocabulary: pasta, popcorn,pizza, kite,bike and kitten - Differentiated teaching: + Incomplete ss: can pronounce the name of the letter P/K in the words pasta, popcorn,pizza, kite,bike and kitten + Well-completed ss: can pronounce the name of the letter P/K in the words pasta, popcorn,pizza, kite,bike and kitten II. Materials: -Teacher’s: books, pictures, flashcards,CD. -Students’: books, crayons III. Method: -Communicative Language Teaching -Total Physical Response -Natural Approach -3Ps III. Teaching activities: Activity 1: Warm up - +Have pupils say the complete sentence aloud. Do this several times, with pupils saying the sentence both individually and in chorus. Correct their prounciation if necessary, and praise them when their pronunciation is good. + Repeat the same procedure with the kite, the bike and the pasta. Give further support to those pupils who find it difficult to do the task. + Ask pupils to work in pairs or in group + Invite some pupils to point to the picture and say the and the sentences in front of the class. Activity 4: -Content 4: Let’s play - Procedure: + Divide class into two groups + Ask Ss of two groups play game + Congratulate the winner Consolidation: - Content: Review the letter P/K and words (pasta, popcorn,pizza, kite,bike and kitten) - Procedure: + Ask Ss to answer the following questions: What have you learnt from the lesson today? What are the core values of the lesson? ( if the teacher can take from the lesson). + Praise some Ss who are hard working/ active/ good. as well as encourage others to try more. + Give feedback Homework: - Learn by heart the words: pasta, popcorn,pizza, kite,bike and kitten
